NVIDIA Sets Up Asia’s First AI Startup Base in Taiwan

NVIDIA, a US-based tech company primarily designing GPUs, has announced to establish “NVIDIA Inception AI Startup Base” in Taiwan, being the first of its kind in Asia. NVIDIA Inception is an acceleration program for AI and data science startups stretching to AIoT, 5G as well as digital contents and healthcare to push for AI in various fields.

Based in Linkou Startup Terrace at New Taipei City, where Cisco’s software development center also lies, NVIDIA hopes to provide Taiwan startups critical go-to-market support, expertise, and technology. 

“Taiwan has strong technology capabilities and a growing startup ecosystem,”

NVIDIA stated, “by settling in the Linkou startup terrace, we will expand communication with startup fellows in various fields. With our resources in Taiwan and abroad we hope to accelerate technology development for Taiwan startup products and scheduling to market to push for AI technology to reach different industries.”

The main goal of NVIDIA Inception AI startup base is to assist in merging cooperation opportunities between outstanding Taiwanese startups and the industries.

A one-year AI technology seminar, hands-on workshops as well as interdisciplinary courses in law will be held by industrial and academic lecturers. AppWorks, StarFab, TACC+ and Taiwan Tech Arena are partners of this endeavor.

The NVIDIA Inception acceleration program began in Taiwan in 2016, providing customized supports to startups based on its development stages, including product launch provisions, NVIDIA deep learning institute (DLI) training sessions and exclusive network events at NVIDIA’s GPU Technology Conference (GTC). Currently over 7,000 startups around the globe have joined the program.

NVIDIA hopes to create more Taiwanese startups like DeepQ, aetherAI and Smasoft aiming for global markets in the next three years.
