The Philippines relies on a 1994 scientific study on \u201cThe Flora of Taipingtao (Aba Itu Island)\u201d\u00a0 (the \u201c1994 Study\u201d), prepared based on a field inspection by Taiwanese botanists whose work was financed by the Taiwan Authority of China, and submits that its conclusions on water, soil, and vegetation demonstrate the impossibility of sustaining human habitation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
